What the Hell is bullet journaling?
Bullet
journaling is basically an analog planning system by Ryder Carroll. (www.bulletjournal.com)
I found it that
times, when everything called ’bullet’. Bullet
coffee made your mind bulletproof
and bullet dates give you instant fun.
So for the first sight bullet journaling wasn’t a big eye-opener idea for me,
just a usual world-saver, same as the other million one. I used almost the same
planning system during my professional works- so I didn’t really care
about it.
But
searching on web – with bullet journaling in my previous searches – I more
often found examples for actual using. And I realized that everyday users
transform this simple –but good working system to something brilliant, which could make you more productive in your personal life too. Everybody adopted it with their own, personal needs. Hybridized it with art
journaling; used as a fancy -but useful – scrapbook; insert their actual
challenges in it or collect all the great self-improved/life-controller systems
and ideas directly - as level10 life,
morning pages, daily gratitude and so on.
So in this way it could
works as a life-saver especially peoples like me – with big plans and just a few free
time. Because in this system, everything
depends on you and your needs. You can use it for anything with everything. You
just need an empty book – and fill it with yourself.
Besides you don’t have to keep everything in your mind, it is also a good
chance for using your creativity. For examples to use and improve your
calligraphy skills, your desire for taking photos; doodle in it just for fun,
or relax with colouring your pages.
And you can
know yourself better with it. You could keep your good memories or understand the bad
ones. You can train your perfectionism and your control mania, or you can
break them. Habit trackers help to realize and change your routines,
and transform your life more productive or more relaxing - as you want. You can setting your own goals easier
and make processes for your plans. You can supervise everything in your life or
just put down your mind, your tasks and deadlines on these pages and live much more
stress free.
And of
course it can feed your stationary addict as well.
And you don’t
really have must-does in it. You can try anything, and if you fail, you can
restart it with or without your previous experiences. You can change your mind
or your style as often as you want. Everything is in your hand. Literally. E V E R
Y T H I N G. And it is just for you, as your secret diary, so you don’t need to
satisfy anybody. Except you. But if you need extreme recognition from others,
you can post your pages and show your style in different platforms - pinterest,
facebook groups, on a youtube channel or simply on instagram or in a blog ;) –
and definitely you will have many feedbacks and helps. Because there are so many
supporting groups and other bullet journal obsessed (like me) to help you start or continue. And you also could just follow
your favourites and searching for inspirations in these platforms, and simple
admire them as in an art gallery or adopt your book and transform them in your style.
Because this
is a perfect way to find and be yourself - without external expectations. It works
without anybody else. You need just one thing: yourself.
And to prove
it, next time I will show you my system with a lot of examples and photos - how
this is works for me. But for now, here is my favourite video about bullet journaling by nifty:
